About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and operate enterprise container platforms based on OpenShift and Kubernetes
  • Develop and implement DevOps processes
  • Migrate monolithic and VM-based systems to microservices and container environments
  • Develop and maintain Git-based DevOps workflows using Helm and CNCF toolchains
  • Take responsibility for lifecycle, patch and availability management of distributed applications
  • Support CI/CD processes and repository-based code delivery
  • Support Java applications as the interface between development and operations
  • Regularly report progress via status reports or meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT qualification
  • Strong knowledge of modern container architectures, particularly OpenShift and CNCF projects with "graduated" status
  • At least 10 years' experience operating software in enterprise or government environments
  • At least 10 years' experience operating highly available software systems, including load balancing and web, application and database servers
  • Experience supporting Java applications as the interface between development and operations
  • Experience migrating traditional server/VM environments to container platforms
  • Experience in lifecycle and patch management of distributed applications
  • Experience building and operating hybrid Kubernetes platforms
  • Experience with Git-based DevOps workflows and Helm
  • Experience with change-management processes and transformation initiatives
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible/Puppet, HA PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, UNIX/Linux, SSL/TLS, OpenID, SAML (SSO) and Keycloak
  • Willingness to undergo on-site training and to be occasionally present in the office
  • English skills at least Intermediate+ or higher
  • German skills at least Upper-Intermediate or higher
  • Certifications such as CKA or Istio are nice-to-haves
  • Knowledge of OracleDB, SAN/NFS storage, OpenStack, Proxmox, QEMU, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, restic, k8up, HashiCorp Vault, ITIL or COBIT are nice-to-haves
