Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback
Maintain accurate course records, including attendance, participation, and grades
Be available for student support through virtual office hours, email, and scheduled meetings
Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards
Collaborate with departmental faculty and leadership to support student success and program quality

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree in Fire Science, Fire Protection Administration, Emergency Management, Public Safety Administration, Homeland Security, Occupational Safety, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
Professional experience in fire service, emergency services, emergency management, public safety, or a related field
Demonstrated ability to teach or train adult learners in professional, academic, or workforce settings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices
Prior experience teaching college-level Fire Science or Emergency Services courses, particularly in an online environment (Preferred)
Experience working with diverse and/or non-traditional student populations (Preferred)
Current or former leadership experience within fire, EMS, emergency management, or public safety organizations (Preferred)
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Fire Officer, Executive Fire Officer, Certified Emergency Manager, FEMA/ICS/NIMS credentials) (Preferred)
Experience using learning management systems and online instructional technologies (Preferred)
