About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze healthcare-related data, such as claims (e.g., CMS) and national surveys/databases (e.g. MEPS).
- Construct, clean, statistically model, and report findings using SAS and Python or R.
- Implement statistical methods to analyze data.
- Follow programming guidelines and rigorous quality assurance approaches, including the maintenance of accurate documentation for the programs.
- Analyze data, summarize results, and incorporate findings into memos, briefs, and/or reports tailored to client needs.
- Interact professionally with peers, managers, and clients.
- Strictly adhere to timelines and deadlines.
- Apply quantitative methods and techniques to manage, analyze, and interpret research data.
- Construct, clean, and document large datasets for both internal use and project-specific needs.
- Contribute to the design and methodology of research studies.
- Assist in the preparation of technical procedures, documentation, and reports.
- Review work products to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of content.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field like Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Health Policy, Epidemiology, or related field and 3-5 years' quantitative research experience in health policy or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as a Programmer, Data Analyst, or similar developing new code, including merges/joins and macros.
- Experience using SAS required. Experience using Python and R strongly preferred.
- Expertise cleaning, analyzing, statistical modeling, and reporting using large Medicare, Medicaid, MEPS, or other commercial claims or survey data.
- Knowledge of data analysis and data management techniques.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
