About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the coordination and execution of strategic initiatives and projects across international markets to deliver key FCC priorities
  • Develop and manage project plans, action trackers, and governance documentation for strategic initiatives and remediation activities
  • Monitor and report on project milestones, risks, dependencies, and remediation activities, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Prepare executive presentations, governance materials, dashboards, and reporting for senior leadership, auditors, and regulators
  • Support the Third-Party Financial Crime Risk Program by developing and maintaining procedures, coordinating Requests for Information (RFIs) and escalations, and supporting remediation activities and policy enhancements
  • Coordinate across the three lines of defense to foster collaboration, communication, effective challenge, and accountability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in Compliance, Financial Crimes Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, Legal, Project or Program Management, or Control Management within financial services
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver in time-sensitive and ambiguous situations
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across countries, business units, and all levels of management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, or broader Financial Crimes Compliance programs preferred
  • Experience supporting cross-functional or international projects preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • CAMS, project management certification (PMP, Agile, or equivalent), or other relevant professional qualifications preferred
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
