About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Run HFM Consolidation for statutory and other reporting and work with the technologies team to resolve issues, if any
  • Support preparation of US GAAP to local GAAP statutory adjustments
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit queries
  • Post journal entries and implement spreadsheet controls
  • Ensure effective controls and governance are adhered to
  • Coordinate with multiple teams across American Express to provide external audit support
  • Support preparation of US GAAP to local GAAP Financial Statements
  • Support accurate and timely statutory financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and applicable local GAAP requirements for multiple international legal entities
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CA Inter (Preferred) / Post-Graduate/ Graduate in Commerce from a recognized university
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Finance/ Accounting/Audit experience
  • Must demonstrate personal accountability in ensuring all tasks and activities are carried out on time and in accordance with requirements
  • Demonstrate ability to operate in a large company matrix environment (if external candidate)
  • Should have excellent Accounting and Finance knowledge
  • Should have good analytical skills
  • Knowledge of AXP Policies, Procedures and Systems
  • High proficiency in MS-Office applications
  • Working knowledge of Workiva/Wdesk/Essbase/analytical software/Oracle etc.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) and their application to reporting
  • Hands-on experience developing analytics using data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, or similar platforms)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Team Player
  • A fast & keen learner with the ability to learn a detailed process quickly
