About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Business Resilience initiatives aligned with current business priorities
- Assist with research, data analysis, documentation, reporting, and project coordination
- Contribute to procedures, playbooks, training materials, governance routines, and resilience capabilities
- Prepare materials for resilience exercises, stakeholder meetings, and senior-level reporting, and track follow-up actions
- Analyze and visualize data to identify trends, risks, dependencies, or opportunities for improvement
- Research industry practices, emerging risks, and regulatory developments relevant to business resilience
- Explore emerging technology, including AI, for research, analysis, and process improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global partners to support consistent execution and share best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Interest in enterprise risk, business continuity, operational resilience, third-party risk, cybersecurity, technology, data analytics, or regulatory compliance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States required; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship
- Preferred: degree in business, risk management, engineering, mathematics, information systems, computer science, data analytics, cybersecurity, supply chain management, or related field
- Preferred: strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Preferred: experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
- Preferred: ability to work independently and as part of a team
