About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with engineering teams, business partners, and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle
- Articulate the why, what, and how of products or features to Product Owners and constituents
- Communicate the product vision to broader stakeholders
- Align action items, owners, and due dates, and track them to completion
- Lead roadmap creation and requirements gathering
- Manage and prioritize the feature backlog using Agile Scrum methodologies based on business value and user impact
- Translate the software product roadmap into minimum viable product iterations
- Partner with Technology to develop, test, deliver, automate, demonstrate, and rapidly iterate platform capabilities and features
- Own and accept features for assigned scrum teams or capabilities
- Review and demonstrate sprint functionality with external partners, customers, the Director of Product Management, and colleagues
- Establish tracking and reporting to evaluate post-launch performance and future investment
- Apply new trends and competitive best practices to requirements and team methods of work
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of Product Management experience driving product implementation iteratively
- Business acumen combined with technical knowledge and a customer-first mindset
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Security, Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant field
- Experience with large-scale technology modernization and/or transformations
- Data Visualization and Reporting experience
- Ability to connect different stakeholder requirements
- Experience launching software or services with engineering teams
- Proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, Agile, and SAFe principles
- Strong leadership and ability to influence through partnerships
- Growth mindset and creative thinking skills
- Customer and end-user empathy
- Strong knowledge of UI/UX development activities
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; visa sponsorship will not be pursued
- SAFe Agilist Certification is a plus
- Financial Crimes business experience and related solution acumen are preferred
- Machine Learning model development and production deployment experience is preferred
- Generative AI, prompt engineering, GENAI production use cases, and governance experience are preferred
- Low-code/no-code environment experience is preferred
- Ability to evaluate product performance, define KPIs, and monitor outcomes is preferred
- Data quality evaluation, data governance, or reporting tools experience is preferred
