About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Mentor junior Software Engineers and cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
Direct the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems
Oversee tasks, platforms, and technologies to expand new and existing software to meet changing requirements
Write automated unit tests to ensure correctness and stability
Build automated CI/CD pipelines with quality gates, test automation, and automated approvals
Provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
Monitor software performance and implement improvements to optimize functionality
Analyze technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to enhance software quality and efficiency
Review code for accuracy, quality, and adherence to best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration and deployment
Co-create with product and business teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives
Craft scalable solutions and build core features for cloud-deployed card transaction systems on the Merchant Platform

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience
Advanced degree preferred
Knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems and algorithms
Knowledge of NoSQL and relational databases
Knowledge of application planning, analysis, development, testing, configuration, and maintenance tools
Significant hands-on experience in application architecture/design, software development, and testing, preferably in an Agile professional environment
Minimum 10 years of proven experience with Java, React, Vert.x, NMS4J, Spring, Spark, Postgres, RESTful APIs, Redis, Kafka, IntelliJ, Couchbase, OpenSearch, and cloud-native application development
Hands-on experience with public cloud technologies, including AWS EKS, AWS Lambda, AWS AuroraDB, AWS Managed Services, GCP, and Kubernetes
Full-stack development experience using Node.js, Java, Python, or similar backend technologies
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and component-based architecture
Experience designing and building AI-powered and Agentic AI solutions, including LLM applications, AI agents, RAG, prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, vector databases, and AI service integrations
Strong engineering and professional leadership skills
Ability to lead, partner, and collaborate cross-functionally across engineering teams
Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, and user stories
Experience with automation testing and documentation using technologies such as Karate, Postman, Cucumber, Playwright, Selenium, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions
