About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Mentor junior Software Engineers and cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
- Direct the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems
- Oversee tasks, platforms, and technologies to expand new and existing software to meet changing requirements
- Write automated unit tests to ensure correctness and stability
- Build automated CI/CD pipelines with quality gates, test automation, and automated approvals
- Provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
- Monitor software performance and implement improvements to optimize functionality
- Analyze technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to enhance software quality and efficiency
- Review code for accuracy, quality, and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration and deployment
- Co-create with product and business teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives
- Craft scalable solutions and build core features for cloud-deployed card transaction systems on the Merchant Platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience
- Advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems and algorithms
- Knowledge of NoSQL and relational databases
- Knowledge of application planning, analysis, development, testing, configuration, and maintenance tools
- Significant hands-on experience in application architecture/design, software development, and testing, preferably in an Agile professional environment
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience with Java, React, Vert.x, NMS4J, Spring, Spark, Postgres, RESTful APIs, Redis, Kafka, IntelliJ, Couchbase, OpenSearch, and cloud-native application development
- Hands-on experience with public cloud technologies, including AWS EKS, AWS Lambda, AWS AuroraDB, AWS Managed Services, GCP, and Kubernetes
- Full-stack development experience using Node.js, Java, Python, or similar backend technologies
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and component-based architecture
- Experience designing and building AI-powered and Agentic AI solutions, including LLM applications, AI agents, RAG, prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, vector databases, and AI service integrations
- Strong engineering and professional leadership skills
- Ability to lead, partner, and collaborate cross-functionally across engineering teams
- Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, and user stories
- Experience with automation testing and documentation using technologies such as Karate, Postman, Cucumber, Playwright, Selenium, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions
