About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Transformation Value Management function across the SC&I portfolio
- Establish frameworks for measuring business outcomes, financial benefits, customer impact, and operational performance
- Own governance for value realization, KPI tracking, executive reporting, and benefit measurement
- Maintain a single source of truth for transformation value, portfolio health, and investment performance
- Develop and govern business cases for enterprise transformation initiatives
- Manage vendor pricing models, support commercial negotiations, and maintain vendor scorecards
- Build financial models, scenario analyses, and investment recommendations quantifying value, costs, risks, and ROI
- Provide portfolio insights supporting executive prioritization, investment decisions, and resource allocation
- Evaluate strategic trade-offs, dependencies, risks, and opportunities across initiatives
- Develop executive presentations, dashboards, scorecards, and briefing materials
- Translate complex analyses into executive narratives and actionable recommendations
- Analyze financial, operational, customer, and delivery data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Build cross-functional partnerships across Product, Technology, Finance, Operations, and Strategy
- Influence senior leaders in a matrixed environment
- Lead, coach, and develop analysts supporting the function
- Foster innovation, continuous improvement, accountability, and data-driven decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience supporting strategic initiatives and influencing executive decision-making within large, complex organizations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, forecasting, business case development, and quantitative analysis
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills and experience creating executive-level presentations
- Exceptional executive storytelling and communication skills
- Strong structured problem-solving skills and experience developing data-driven solutions
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence across Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, and Strategy
- People leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; visa sponsorship will not be pursued
- Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, Economics, or related discipline
- Preferred: Experience leading enterprise transformation offices, value realization functions, or strategic portfolio management organizations
- Preferred: Financial and analytical acumen covering investment opportunities, value realization, and ROI
- Preferred: Experience establishing KPIs, validating business cases, and measuring financial outcomes
- Preferred: Familiarity with Agile product development, AI-enabled capabilities, digital transformation, customer servicing, or operational transformation
- Preferred: Experience building enterprise reporting frameworks, portfolio dashboards, and executive scorecards
