About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support development and maintenance of portfolio reporting, value realization frameworks, and performance metrics across strategic transformation initiatives
- Track business outcomes, financial benefits, customer impact, and operational performance
- Develop portfolio dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting materials
- Analyze portfolio data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and continuous improvement areas
- Develop business analyses, financial models, and business cases for strategic transformation initiatives
- Evaluate investment opportunities, implementation costs, business benefits, and operational impacts
- Support vendor evaluations, pricing analyses, and commercial recommendations with cross-functional teams
- Research industry trends and benchmark best practices for portfolio planning and strategic decision-making
- Support portfolio prioritization by identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities
- Prepare executive presentations, dashboards, scorecards, briefing materials, and governance meeting analyses
- Translate complex analyses into concise business recommendations
- Build collaborative relationships across Product, Technology, Finance, Operations, Strategy, and other enterprise organizations
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in strategy, consulting, finance, business analytics, operations, customer success, account management, product management, or a related analytical role
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Ability to synthesize data into actionable business insights
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, financial modeling, scenario analysis, or forecasting
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills and experience creating polished business presentations for senior stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
- Preferred: MBA or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, Economics, or a related discipline
- Preferred: Experience developing business cases, financial analyses, dashboards, or executive presentations
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
- Preferred: Familiarity with Agile delivery, AI-enabled capabilities, digital transformation, customer servicing, or operational transformation
