About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support implementation of the new Reliance Model
Oversee execution of the Reliance Model Questionnaire and ensure business-unit adherence to minimum standards
Require annual attestations of program compliance and business-unit regulatory subject-matter expertise
Confirm that business-unit governance processes are formally documented
Provide ongoing reporting to maintain Corporate Function awareness of regulatory change management activities
Perform additional responsibilities based on team needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory advisory, or a related role within financial services is preferred
Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements and advise business stakeholders on compliance risks, processes, and controls
Strong program and project management experience, including governance, change management, stakeholder engagement, execution tracking, and executive reporting
Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks, operating models, or compliance programs in complex or evolving environments
Strong understanding of policy, regulatory, and operational risk management requirements and the three lines of defense model
Proven relationship management, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic, ambiguous, and high-pressure environment
Bachelor’s degree required
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
