About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review the existing Reliance Model to understand current requirements and workflows
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and working sessions to document Corporate Functions sentiments around process execution and governance
  • Map the current-state process and identify recurring pain points, gaps, dependencies, and opportunities to improve consistency and usability
  • Develop reusable guidance, FAQs, templates, and communications to support business-unit execution
  • Deliver executive-ready recommendations, including a proposed future-state process and practical implementation roadmap
  • Produce a current-state process map and summary of key findings
  • Create a draft Reliance Model toolkit containing guidance, templates, FAQs, and standard communications
  • Prepare a final presentation outlining recommendations, anticipated benefits, and next steps

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program
  • Bachelor’s degree candidate with expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Demonstrated interest in regulatory compliance, governance, operational risk, process improvement, or financial services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including organizing information, identifying themes, and translating findings into practical recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create clear PowerPoint presentations and written materials
  • Detail-oriented, curious, collaborative, and able to manage project milestones with guidance in a dynamic environment
  • Prior financial services or regulatory governance experience is helpful but not required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with process mapping or data visualization is a plus
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
