About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review the existing Reliance Model to understand current requirements and workflows
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and working sessions to document Corporate Functions sentiments around process execution and governance
- Map the current-state process and identify recurring pain points, gaps, dependencies, and opportunities to improve consistency and usability
- Develop reusable guidance, FAQs, templates, and communications to support business-unit execution
- Deliver executive-ready recommendations, including a proposed future-state process and practical implementation roadmap
- Produce a current-state process map and summary of key findings
- Create a draft Reliance Model toolkit containing guidance, templates, FAQs, and standard communications
- Prepare a final presentation outlining recommendations, anticipated benefits, and next steps
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program
- Bachelor’s degree candidate with expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
- Demonstrated interest in regulatory compliance, governance, operational risk, process improvement, or financial services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including organizing information, identifying themes, and translating findings into practical recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create clear PowerPoint presentations and written materials
- Detail-oriented, curious, collaborative, and able to manage project milestones with guidance in a dynamic environment
- Prior financial services or regulatory governance experience is helpful but not required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with process mapping or data visualization is a plus
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
