About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records.
- General ledger maintenance, month-end close, and grant compliance.
- Audit support contributing to the financial health of the organization.
- Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to improve workflow efficiency.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain detailed records of unrestricted and restricted fund activity.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit organization.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP, including non-profit accounting standards (ASC 958).
- Proven experience with general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Demonstrated experience with grant accounting and restricted fund management.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
