About the role
- Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health
- Provide counseling for issues associated with addictions and substance abuse
- Address family, parenting, and marital problems; stress management; self-esteem; and aging-related concerns
- Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and use ASAM criteria for placement/continuing care
- Maintain accurate records, filing, and computer documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in client referrals and case management
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or other related field which includes a practicum in a drug and alcohol setting
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or other related field and 1 year of clinical experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a drug and alcohol setting
- Fluent in English and Spanish / Bilingual and bicultural in Spanish/English
- Knowledge of and experience using ASAM criteria
- Strong computer skills; filing and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player; excellent customer relations; able to communicate well with diverse individuals; good organizational skills
- Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal Background, FBI clearances; mandated reporter training
- CADC preferred
- CPR / First AID
