About the role

  • Handle tenders from transmission system operators (TSOs) in the area of secondary equipment for high-voltage substations
  • Plan and integrate modern control systems into complex substation environments
  • Design SAS architectures based on IEC 61850, including GOOSE and MMS communications
  • Configure HMI interfaces and communication networks such as fiber-optic and Ethernet topologies
  • Manage interfaces with protection systems, TSO control centers, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Develop communication matrices, system descriptions and technical specifications
  • Create test protocols, prepare and carry out Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT)
  • Analyze technical requirements from TSOs and translate them into robust system solutions

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Experience in control systems, Substation Automation Systems (SAS) or secondary equipment
  • Proficient with control systems such as Siemens SICAM PAS/PQS, Spectrum Power, ABB MicroSCADA or GE Grid Solutions
  • Familiar with communication standards such as IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV), Modbus, DNP3 or PROFINET
  • Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems like WinCC, Zenon or Ignition
  • Familiar with network design tools such as Wireshark or Cisco Packet Tracer and with fiber-optic and Ethernet networks
  • Basic cybersecurity knowledge according to IEC 62351 and ISO 27001, and able to configure firewalls (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet)
  • Fluent in German and English
