About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • - Body D&R Engineer responsible for engineering, design, development, timing and production release for various vehicle body functions.
  • - Interface and coordinate packaging with product design office, vehicle development, and adjacent departments.
  • - Provide feasibility input for designs from Product Design Office concepts, sketches, and clay models.
  • - Undertake quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction initiatives, and communicate technical product status to management.
  • - Develop functional objectives, manage production suppliers, and release completed geometry using NX Teamcenter CAD tools.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • - Experience designing and developing on the following: --->Body in White, Closures, or Exterior Systems.
  • - CAD experience with Unigraphics NX, Catia V5 and Teamcenter in a production release environment BIW (Body in White).
  • - Knowledgeable regarding high strength steels/ aluminum forming processes, weld parameters and GD&T.
  • - Experience/knowledge with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and validation plans.
  • - Bom’s creation and edition.
  • - Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Green/Black Belt is a plus.
  • - CAE/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) knowledge.
  • - Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • - CATIA V5 knowledge is a plus.
