About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the energy auditing and commissioning processes for (major) renovation projects and new construction
Develop and refine advanced building energy models to optimize building performance
Collaborate closely with design and construction teams to ensure alignment with energy codes and green building standards
Conduct thorough site inspections, system testing, and performance verification
Interact with our team and clients to provide insightful reports and recommendations to optimize systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Science and Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in building systems commissioning and energy modeling
Proficiency with whole-building energy modeling software such as DesignBuilder, OpenStudio, IES-VE, EnergyPlus, eQuest
Deep understanding of building energy conservation codes, ASHRAE standards, and LEED technical credits
A natural curiosity and drive to understand complex physical systems
Professional Engineer in New York State, or the ability and willingness to secure a license in the next 12 months is a plus
