About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide equine ambulatory, medical, and surgical veterinary services
- Participate in team rounds to discuss cases and upcoming appointments
- Manage a varied caseload ranging from family horses to elite competitors
- Handle emergencies and surgeries in-house from start to finish
- Build a practice and client base
- Mentor and support students, externs, and interns
- Provide herd health, dentistry, and lameness care
- Evaluate and treat cases using the hospital’s lameness center and diagnostic resources
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists through knowledge-sharing groups and continuing education events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Equine veterinarian qualification/licensure required to practice veterinary medicine
- Confident communication skills and ability to build trust with clients and colleagues
- Drive and vision to build a veterinary practice and client base
- Interest in mentoring and supporting students, externs, and interns
- Interest in herd health, dentistry, and lameness
- Ability to work in an ambulatory practice and see cases in-clinic
