About the role
- Develop advanced motor control algorithms and contribute to other control development needs.
- Develop and maintain simulation models for control validations and studies.
- Test and troubleshoot in the lab and on our vehicles.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and system engineers to contribute to requirements, development and validation.
- Identify, report, and track software bugs; analyze logs to troubleshoot issues.
Requirements
- MS or PhD degree in Controls, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with a focus on motor controls and drives.
- Strong background in controls of PMSM and inverters.
- Practical experience with motor control algorithms like FOC and DTC, PWM strategies.
- Hands on experience testing motor drive systems; understanding of equipment like dynamometers, power supplies and power meters.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, including model-based design, Stateflow, and developing automation scripts.
- Familiar embedded controller and programming languages such as C and Python.
- Familiar with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN) and tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANape.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration workflows.
