About the role

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure the product backlog is transparent and visible to all stakeholders, with a roadmap that aligns with future releases.
  • Work closely with development teams and stakeholders to define clear requirements and translate them into actionable user stories.
  • Prioritize backlog items to achieve business objectives, ensuring a balance between business needs and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with the development team to establish a clear definition of “done” and plan release cycles.
  • Work with stakeholders to define product needs and requirements, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy.
  • Act as the product expert for payment systems, providing insights and updates on the latest trends and competitive landscape.
  • Ensure stakeholders formally approve development deliverables before release to production.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and presentations for internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date product documentation and ensure easy access to product information.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, security protocols, and regulations per entity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in payment systems, fintech, or banking.
  • Deep understanding of payment gateways, transaction flows, and payment technologies.
  • Experience with card payment processing, card acquirers, online banking, and alternative payment methods.
  • Experience with third-party banks, payment providers, or fintech API integrations.
  • Strong ability to communicate with business stakeholders, development, UX designers, and other Product Owners.
  • Ability to assess the viability, desirability, and feasibility of third-party technical integrations.
  • Solid technical knowledge of payment method integrations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude to overcome challenges.
