About the role
- Lead a Data Engineering team
- Coordinate with business stakeholders and gather new requirements
- Identify modernization requirements
- Evaluate, prioritize and structure requirements and manage the resulting backlog
- Translate business requirements into actionable data and engineering tasks
- Manage a largely autonomous development team that independently handles various topic areas
- Coordinate with the client side regarding architecture, standards and governance
- Organize and participate in occasional code reviews
- Ensure a structured implementation of data pipelines, data models and platform standards
Requirements
- Degree or relevant training in Computer Science, Business Informatics or an equivalent qualification
- Experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager or Delivery Manager in data projects
- Experience managing Data Engineering teams
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Understanding of modern data platform architectures
- Experience with agile working methods (Scrum / Kanban)
- Knowledge and experience with technologies such as Databricks, Lakehouse architecture, Unity Catalog, PySpark, Spark SQL, ETL pipelines, data modeling, Medallion architecture, Git
- Optional: experience with Azure Cloud, Infrastructure as Code, automation of CI/CD pipelines, Terraform
