About the role

  • Morning: You're reviewing overnight network activity, checking ETA updates across rail and road, and identifying any shipments that need immediate intervention before the day's appointments are at risk.
  • Mid-Morning: You're working through the exception queue with your team — triaging no-show exposure, triggering rebookings, and making sure at-risk freight has a clear action owner before the window closes.
  • Afternoon: You're coordinating with carrier partners and cross-functional teams on escalations, checking appointment compliance across delegated booking parties, and making sure the right stakeholders have the right information.
  • Late Afternoon: You're reviewing what's outstanding, closing out exceptions that need resolution before end of day, and setting your team up with clear priorities for evening and overnight coverage.
  • You're a network thinker: You don't just react to what's in front of you. You're constantly scanning for what's coming — ETA shifts, rail delays, carrier patterns — and positioning your team to act before a problem lands.
  • You're a fixer: When something's off, you don't flag it and move on. You own the follow-through until there's a clear resolution and someone accountable on the other end.
  • You communicate proactively: Your team, your carriers, and your internal stakeholders always know where things stand. Information doesn't get stuck with you.
  • You're resilient: Freight goes sideways. You're the steady presence that keeps the team focused and gets operations back on track without drama.
  • You hold the standard: You don't let service expectations slide because it's easier in the moment. You know that consistency is what builds a reliable operation.
  • This role carries real accountability. You're not just overseeing a scheduling function — you're responsible for whether customer delivery commitments are met across a live, 24/7 network. You'll have the autonomy to make calls, set standards, and shape how this function operates. But you own the outcomes, and the team will take their cues from how you show up every day.

  • Strong working knowledge of freight movement across road and rail, including ETA management, milestone tracking, consignee requirements, and carrier compliance
  • Proven ability to manage exceptions at scale and hold both internal teams and external partners accountable to service standards
  • Comfortable navigating multiple TMS platforms, visibility tools, and carrier portals simultaneously.
