About the role
- Lead an agile team of Java developers (on-site and remote), establish coding standards, and foster a culture of technical excellence
- Design and build resilient, scalable microservices and distributed system architectures
- Develop core backend components in Java using modern frameworks such as Spring Boot and assess emerging technologies
- Conduct code reviews, maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement automated testing, and ensure security-by-design compliance
- Partner with product management, DevOps, and domain experts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a Senior Java developer or technical lead, ideally within the financial services sector (banking, payments, treasury)
- Strong knowledge of Java (8/11/17+), Spring Framework (Spring Boot), and microservices architecture
- Proficient with relational (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases; experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus
- Familiar with financial processes, regulatory and security requirements, and transaction systems
- Fluent in English and experienced in working with international teams in different time zones
