About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work alongside the Manager of Product on product management activities
- Navigate product management processes and coordinate traffic flow, emphasizing Medicare lines of business
- Research Medicare HMO and PPO regulations, competitors, products, markets, and trends
- Conduct product research for filings, bids, and selling periods
- Assist with health plan Service Area Expansion filings through state and federal agencies
- Collect data elements for Service Area Expansion and Annual Bids
- Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify market opportunities
- Ensure accuracy of member-facing media for specific Medicare Advantage plans
- Maintain knowledge of government programs, health insurance markets, healthcare reform, and product trends
- Collaborate with Compliance, Pharmacy, Finance, Healthcare Services, Quality, Marketing, Enrollment, and Sales departments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working with department staff and ability to work well with staff with minimal direction
- Prior experience in the Medicare healthcare field
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of Medicare knowledge preferred
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to the changing Medicare environment
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and web-based applications
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily
- Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
