Underwriter

• Lead and develop the Surety underwriting team;
• Define and implement underwriting policies and technical authority limits;
• Develop tools and processes to optimize quotation productivity;
• Ensure technical quality and compliance in risk analyses;
• Work closely with major brokers and small/medium-sized brokers and agents;
• Build strategic relationships with commercial partners;
• Participate in negotiations for large accounts and structured transactions;
• Manage pipeline, monitoring policies, updates to insured amounts, renewals and cancellations;
• Support the commercial area with technical expertise on complex proposals;
• Establish and monitor underwriting productivity and quality KPIs;
• Implement agile methodologies and management frameworks (QBR);
• Conduct profitability and claims/loss ratio analyses for the portfolio;
• Propose continuous improvements to underwriting processes;
• Interact with Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Reinsurance, Commercial and other teams;
• Prepare reports for negotiation and acceptance of risks with the reinsurance market;
• Ensure achievement of established targets and compliance with policies.
