About the role
- Design and implement backend services and APIs in Python
- Build and maintain backend systems for AI inference, image and video processing, and data pipelines
- Collaborate with ML engineers to productionize models and experiments
- Design and operate async and distributed workflows where needed
- Improve reliability, observability, and maintainability of backend systems
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision making
- Own features end to end from design to production
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to engineering best practices
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python in production environments
- Experience building and maintaining backend systems
- Good understanding of async programming and concurrency
- Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with cloud based infrastructure
- Solid system design skills and engineering fundamentals
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership
- Clear communication skills and a product oriented mindset
