About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve transparency on Airwallex’s global cash positions, funding needs, risk exposures, and control environment by developing consistent reporting, analytics, and KPIs across all entities, and contribute to the standardisation and automation of these processes.
  • Perform data-driven financial and reconciliation analysis on cash flows, payment volumes, safeguarding balances, and variances, translating findings into clear, actionable insights that support Treasury, Finance, and business decision-making.
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance safeguarding and client money controls (including account segregation, daily reconciliations, variance monitoring, and remediation workflows) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to define reconciliation and safeguarding requirements, shape data models and tooling, and design operational workflows that scale with new products, geographies, partners, and regulatory regimes.
  • Drive process standardisation and automation across Treasury and financial operations, reducing manual intervention and operational risk.
  • Provide ad hoc support on Finance and firm-wide initiatives (e.g. new banking partners, regulatory change, product launches, capital and liquidity projects).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Financial Engineering or similar fields;
  • 2+ years working experience in an analytical role in Financial Services, Internet and Fintech industry is preferred;
  • Strong analytical skills of working with very large amounts of data and using tools to generate business insights, prior experience in end to end analytical process including data gathering, analysis, presenting and execution is preferred;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships and work effectively with others.
