About the role
- Airwallex: unified payments and financial platform for global businesses
- Join Legal, Risk & Compliance (Licensing) to expand product offerings across the Americas and beyond
- Work closely with Head of Licensing, CEO’s office, and cross-functional teams to unlock new markets
- Scope licensing and regulatory permission requirements and develop licensing strategies
- Coordinate with Regulatory Legal and executive stakeholders on licensing strategy
- Manage end-to-end execution: business plans, government filings, new entity approvals, scope expansions
- Support M&A by managing change-of-control permissions for acquisitions
- Obtain licenses in jurisdictions to expand permitted activities and oversee major license renewals
- Manage internal stakeholders: Product, Legal, InfoSec, Financial Partnerships, regional and local commercial teams
- Build and maintain regulator relationships; respond to queries and application feedback
- Role based in San Francisco OR New York City (hybrid)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years experience in strategy or management consulting, with international project experience
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Strong writing and communications skills, including ability to clearly and concisely articulate technical matters
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working independently to deliver results
- Preferred: Experience with banking, financial technology and/or payment businesses
- Preferred: Experience with licensing applications, particularly payments, banking, or other financial licenses
