About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based GLP-1 prescribing for every patient
  • Assess patient suitability, comorbidities, contraindications, interacting medications, and complex cases
  • Run detailed and efficient weight-management consultations
  • Monitor treatment response and side effects across the caseload
  • Adjust care promptly and safely
  • Escalate red flags, near misses, protocol gaps, and complex cases
  • Maintain accurate, concise, contemporaneous clinical records suitable for audit
  • Follow and help improve evolving clinical protocols
  • Contribute to clinical audits, incident learning, and quality improvement
  • Collaborate with customer support, operations, and technology teams
  • Report directly to the team lead

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • GPhC-registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) annotation held for at least 1 year
  • Experience prescribing weight-management treatments, GLP-1s, or a closely related area
  • Ability to assess comorbidities, contraindications, and polypharmacy
  • Clear and quick clinical reasoning within a protocol-led service
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including patient counselling
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment without compromising accuracy
  • Confident using electronic health records and remote consultation platforms
  • Willingness to support evening or weekend rotas when needed
  • Experience with asynchronous, telephone, and/or video consultations is desirable
  • Additional obesity or weight-management training, such as SCOPE certification, is desirable
  • Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent is desirable
  • Experience managing patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal impairment, or polypharmacy is desirable
  • Clinical audit, incident investigation, quality improvement, SOP, protocol, or prescribing-pathway experience is desirable
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup or weight-loss environment is desirable
