About the role
- Design and build immersive, interactive maps and environments using UEFN Script gameplay logic, events, and systems using Verse
- Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, artists, and creative leads to execute on the project vision
- Optimize assets and levels for smooth, cross-platform performance
- Experiment with layouts, pacing, and modular workflows to support quick iteration
- This is an Expression of Interest opportunity for freelancers, contractors, and collaborators
- Remote candidates may be considered; however, preference will be given to those who can work in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Requirements
- A portfolio or playable samples demonstrating proficiency in UEFN and Verse scripting
- Experience creating polished, engaging experiences—whether narrative, competitive, social, or sandbox
- Comfort working with both art and technical teams to troubleshoot and align visual and gameplay goals
- Strong understanding of optimization best practices for real-time platforms
- Passion for innovative storytelling, UGC ecosystems, and pushing boundaries in new tools
- Experience with 3D modeling tools (Blender, Maya, etc.) is a plus
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 workflows is a plus
- Awareness of Fortnite Creative trends and the broader UGC landscape is a plus
- Comfort with working in a collaborative, experimental development environment
