About the role

  • Care for patients before, during and after surgery.
  • Be a member of the operating room team and ensure that surgeons have everything they need.
  • Responsible for sterilizing instruments after surgery.
  • Three-year training program alternating between theoretical instruction and practical hospital-based training.

Requirements

  • You are at least 17 years old.
  • You hold a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) or an equivalent school qualification.
  • Successfully completed vocational training of at least two years or authorization to use the professional title 'nursing assistant'.
  • Grade average in science subjects up to 3.0 (German grading scale).
  • An internship in an operating room prior to application can be an advantage.
  • Proof of vaccination or immunity for tetanus, mumps, measles, rubella, hepatitis B and varicella (chickenpox).
  • You must provide an extended certificate of good conduct (police clearance).
  • Valid residence permit (if applicable).
  • Proof of German language proficiency at B2 level.
  • Certified translations of your certificates.
  • Recognition of foreign school qualifications by the Federal Republic of Germany (if applicable).
