About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under experienced engineers
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures
  • Complete detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems
  • Identify discrepancies in results
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers
  • Perform work within agreed budgets and schedules under moderate supervision
  • Design utility-scale physical substations in the power delivery industry

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience with high-voltage substation design
  • EIT certification
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation
  • Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years of hire preferred
  • Knowledge of construction practices and constructability preferred
  • Experience with proposal writing and project estimating preferred
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes preferred
  • Knowledge of substation industry and technology trends
  • Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, and NESC codes and standards
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to check the quality of own and others’ work
  • Ability to use sound engineering judgment
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively
  • Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
  • Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available
