About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support proposal development by creating deliverable lists, estimating engineering hours, and providing mechanical engineering input
Serve as lead mechanical engineer on medium to large projects
Develop project deliverables and manage junior mechanical engineering staff
Coordinate mechanical design with other disciplines and project management
Develop P&IDs, equipment location plans, piping plans, piping isometrics, piping material specifications, equipment lists, line lists, specialty items lists, and construction scopes of work
Coordinate scope changes, engineering budgets, and schedule constraints
Perform and check equipment sizing, hydraulic, and pipe stress calculations
Support equipment procurement through specifications, data sheets, quotations, technical bid tabulations, and vendor data reviews
Conduct occasional site visits for proposals, walkthroughs, field data acquisition, design verification, and construction support
Assist with project model development and system layout
Assist with workload distribution and manpower loading plans
Provide feedback, mentorship, and leadership to developing engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 8 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Understanding of design, industrial process, and energy projects
Experience in industrial and/or energy-related fields
Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, and ASTM
Experience with engineering calculation software such as Pipe-Flo, Applied Flow Technology Fathom, and CAESAR II
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
9+ years of experience in industrial and/or energy-related fields preferred
Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship for US employment authorization is unavailable now and in the future
