About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and perform structural design and analysis for multiple hyperscale and colocation data center buildings
  • Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations
  • Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams
  • Oversee construction documents, specifications, and calculations for quality, code compliance, and technical excellence
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities on technical queries and design clarifications
  • Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits
  • Travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and other project-related activities
  • Collaborate with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE)
  • Experience in building structures design and analysis
  • Experience specifically in data center, mission critical, or large-scale logistics/industrial facilities
  • Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, and SAFE
  • Experience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems
  • Demonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design approaches
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience with data center facilities and familiarity with data center-specific design standards and structural resiliency requirements
  • Preferred: LEED, Envision, or active leadership in SE 2050 implementation
  • Expertise in sustainable structural systems and emerging industry best practices
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
  • Ability to interpret and apply national and local building codes
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available
