About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation facilities
Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations
Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams
Prepare construction documents, specifications, and calculations
Ensure quality, code compliance, and technical excellence
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities on technical queries and design clarifications
Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits
Travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and other project-related activities
Collaborate with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE)
5+ years of professional experience in building structures design and analysis
Experience with data center, mission critical, or large-scale logistics/industrial facilities
Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, and SAFE
Experience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems
Demonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design approaches
Ability to interpret and apply national and local building codes
Preferred: 3+ years of experience with data center facilities and familiarity with data center-specific design standards and structural resiliency requirements
Preferred: LEED, Envision, or active leadership in SE 2050 implementation
Expertise in low embodied carbon materials, sustainable structural systems, and emerging industry best practices
Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
