About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and perform structural design and analysis for multiple hyperscale and colocation data center buildings
Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations
Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams
Oversee construction documents, specifications, and calculations for quality, code compliance, and technical excellence
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities on technical queries and design clarifications
Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits
Travel occasionally for client meetings, site visits, project milestones, and onsite collaboration
Work with global AECOM teams on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE)
Experience in building structures design and analysis
Experience in data center, mission critical, or large-scale logistics/industrial facilities
Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, and SAFE
Experience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems
Demonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design approaches
Preferred: 3+ years of experience with data center facilities and familiarity with data center-specific design standards and structural resiliency requirements
LEED, Envision, or active leadership in SE 2050 implementation preferred
Expertise in low embodied carbon materials, sustainable structural systems, and emerging industry best practices
Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
Ability to interpret and apply national and local building codes
Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available
Must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
Relocation is not available
