About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead architectural design for large-scale hyperscale cloud data center and colocation projects from concept through construction administration and closeout
Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines, construction teams, and external stakeholders on coordinated, integrated design solutions
Develop and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for code, standards, and client-guideline compliance
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities to support project delivery and regulatory compliance
Serve as architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients
Ensure operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability in facility design
Mentor and guide junior architects and designers
Apply industry best practices and data center design trends
Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual architectural designs for new pursuits
Work with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects
Attend occasional client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, and other business-critical activities
Attend mandatory in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Demonstrated experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects
Knowledge of building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design requirements
Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and related design tools
Active U.S. Architectural license preferred
LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credentials preferred
5+ years working with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models preferred
Experience in fast-paced, global project environments preferred
Extensive experience working with permitting authorities and AHJs preferred
Leadership, communication, and project management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
Must be able to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available
