About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the performance of major environmental programs and projects to achieve internal and client-facing KPIs
  • Drive program performance, business performance, risk management, client satisfaction, and KPI attainment
  • Develop solutions to client problems and participate in major project reviews and dashboards
  • Execute billable Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation work
  • Share people-management responsibilities for approximately 50 department staff
  • Maintain relationships with contacts across three multinational chemical company client organizations
  • Resolve major issues and support client concerns
  • Develop succession plans and advise on recruiting key personnel
  • Train, mentor, and coach project managers and team members
  • Evaluate individual performance of project managers
  • Collaborate on business development, profitable backlog growth, budgets, capture strategies, bookings, and project oversight
  • Escalate project issues and address resourcing, technical, invoicing, cash collection, subconsultant, and vendor concerns
  • Drive project management practices aligned with AECOM Project Delivery System and Quality Management System requirements
  • Ensure accuracy of workload planning, pricing compliance, approval frameworks, Salesforce pipeline data, and forecast reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a motor vehicle records check
  • US citizenship or permanent residency required
  • Visa sponsorship is not offered now or in the future
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 15 years of related experience preferred
  • California Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Flexible and adaptable in ambiguous situations
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Strong knowledge and track record in environmental/remediation business
  • Experience with risk-based strategic asset management and advocacy across multiple state jurisdictions for an environmental consultant
