About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform archaeological fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator
Perform a variety of tasks supporting project staff
Gather and maintain scientific data for supervisors, including environmental sampling, operations and maintenance, and client-site inspections
Assist with calculations and set up and operate equipment
Inspect equipment and installations for compliance with specifications
Maintain proper project documentation
Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories under supervision
Travel overnight for field work sessions as needed
Support field projects primarily in Oregon and Washington State

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school graduation plus 4 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, with archaeological fieldwork in the PNW region
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
US Citizenship required
Flexibility to travel overnight for field work sessions
Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience with archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring preferred
Completion of an archaeological field school highly desired
Experience with geospatial technology, including GPS and GIS preferred
Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred
