About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a hands-on technical authority across roads and highways design
  • Lead technical decision-making and set a high standard for design quality
  • Support delivery of complex highways and transport infrastructure projects across Victoria and ANZ
  • Perform design reviews and apply value engineering/design optimisation
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across multidisciplinary project teams
  • Build and strengthen relationships with Victorian transport, local government and private-sector clients
  • Lead business development opportunities, strategic pursuits and work-winning activities
  • Mentor, develop and inspire junior and mid-level engineers
  • Drive innovation and best practice across a varied portfolio of projects throughout Victoria
  • Represent AECOM through industry engagement, client relationships and thought leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience delivering roads, highways and transport infrastructure projects, with consultancy and/or contractor experience
  • Strong technical expertise in roads and highways design
  • Demonstrated capability applying value engineering/design optimisation
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and contributing to complex infrastructure project delivery
  • Strong relationships and experience working with Victorian transport clients highly regarded
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management, business development and work winning
  • Strong commercial acumen, including project performance management and business growth
  • Recognised technical expertise within the highways and transport sector
  • Chartered status and/or RPEV highly regarded
  • Passion for mentoring and developing high-performing teams
