About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work under the oversight of an experienced team of engineers and scientists on environmental site assessments, remedial and solid waste design and construction, and environmental support on multi-disciplinary projects
Perform standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures
Detect problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
Conduct specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists
Propose appropriate analytical methods and techniques
Assist in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge
Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analysis
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Work under general supervision
Flexible with working extended hours and locations, travel may be greater than 50 percent of time
Must be able to do day travel regionally

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in environmental sciences or engineering or other related fields
8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education
Valid driver's license
Subject to a pre-employment Background check
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
US Citizenship or a permanent resident is required due to some of the sites
Master's Degree preferred
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions
Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike
Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks
Scientific research and report writing (including web based research)
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent written and verbal skills
Strong quality and time management
Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative
Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work
Seeking professional certifications
