About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently executes and delivers GIS projects varying from basic to moderate to significant scopes and complexity.
- Develop databases and various mapping outputs to support reports and other project deliverables.
- Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.
- Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components.
- Use concepts, practices, and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients.
- Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation, including quality control documentation.
- Provide support to AECOM’s Military Munitions Response information dashboard.
- Work directly with Level I/II/III/IV GIS Specialists and Project Managers.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Successful candidate will have to pass a background check
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field preferred
- 1+ years of GIS or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education preferred
- Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal and/or other relevant ArcGIS software and an understanding of the ESRI suite of products preferred
- AutoCAD experience preferred
- Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design preferred
