About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides project leadership in the areas of design, investigation, analysis, construction and operation of tailings and mine waste storage facilities
- Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in a mid- to large, complex projects or several moderately sized projects with greater risk and complexity
- Work with existing and potential clients to provide long-term solutions for mine tailings facilities
- Develop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow Mining practice
- Provide direction to and mentoring to other technical staff in completing project tasks
- Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Master’s OR PhD in Civil Engineering or related field of study preferred
- 12+ years or more of relevant experience preferred
- Demonstrated progressive experience in tailings storage facility design
- Ability to serve as primary point of contact with the client
- Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of standard geotechnical and hydrological software programs
