About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provides project leadership in the areas of design, investigation, analysis, construction and operation of tailings and mine waste storage facilities
Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in a mid- to large, complex projects or several moderately sized projects with greater risk and complexity
Work with existing and potential clients to provide long-term solutions for mine tailings facilities
Develop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow Mining practice
Provide direction to and mentoring to other technical staff in completing project tasks
Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work
Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project

Requirements

What you’ll need

BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Master’s OR PhD in Civil Engineering or related field of study preferred
12+ years or more of relevant experience preferred
Demonstrated progressive experience in tailings storage facility design
Ability to serve as primary point of contact with the client
Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications
Knowledge of standard geotechnical and hydrological software programs
