About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • AECOM is seeking a qualified candidate to lead the digital delivery for the remediation business in US West, from setting the direction through to getting it done.
  • It looks across the business to find where maturing how we use digital technology will make a real difference, whether that means new systems, getting more out of what we already have, or improving the way we work.
  • It defines what needs to happen, what it will take, when, and the benefit it will deliver, and then leads delivery.
  • This is a do-and-lead role.
  • The successful candidate performs hands-on solution work where needed and leads delivery through others where capability exists, scaling their own involvement to where the gaps are.
  • They coordinate resources from across the business to support initiatives, in the manner of a delivery lead, without line-management authority.
  • Delivery comes first; strategy and transformation set its direction.
  • The role works within corporate technology direction and standards, while making the case for new technology, including emerging capabilities like AI, where there is a strong reason to.
  • It covers the full lifecycle, improving long-running programs as well as standing up new work.
  • While it sits within the environment business, day-to-day direction comes from the regional Digital Director of Operations, who provides functional guidance and sets digital strategy and operational direction across all business lines.

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • 10+ years of experience spanning digital strategy or transformation and hands-on digital delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to both perform solution work directly and lead delivery through others, scaling involvement to where the need is.

  • Experience configuring solutions across the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with the core platforms used in the environment business, including EQuIS, alongside Smartsheet and the Microsoft suite.
  • Proven ability to set a digital roadmap and prioritize initiatives by value, urgency, complexity, and capacity.
  • Experience building business cases and tracking realized benefits and value over time.
  • Strong ability to operate with ambiguity, turning loosely defined needs into clear direction and delivered solutions.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and direct matrixed resources in a delivery-lead capacity, and to bridge business and technical teams.
  • Awareness of emerging capabilities such as AI and a practical view of where they create value in a regulated environment.
