About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to the design and documentation of building services electrical systems including lighting and controls, general and specialist power, main switchboards, distribution systems, earthing and lightning protection, emergency and exit lighting, and essential services systems.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications and schedules in accordance with Australian Standards and project requirements.
  • Support the delivery of coordinated, multi-disciplinary design solutions across mechanical, hydraulic, fire and structural teams.
  • Assist with design reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards, NCC requirements and authority regulations.
  • Participate, with supervision, in client meetings and provide technical input during design development.
  • Undertake site inspections and support construction-phase services.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) whilst working towards relevant registrations.
  • Ideally, 2+ years’ experience in building services electrical design within a consulting environment.
  • Sound understanding of Australian Standards, the NCC and local authority requirements as they relate to electrical building services.
  • Experience using industry-standard design tools such as Revit (MEP), PowerCAD (or similar), ETAP, AGi32 and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Developing knowledge of utility connection processes and authority approvals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within project teams.
  • Due to the nature of the projects, Australian Citizenship is required with current (or previously held) defence clearance highly regarded.
