About the role

  • The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of the software environment.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight across all aspects of the software lifecycle, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient systems.
  • Serve as a point of escalation and subject matter expert, offering advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution, while also mentoring and guiding team members to strengthen their technical capabilities and overall performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, and inventory updates as directed.
  • Maintain an active, working mobile phone at all times to support team members and the organization as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding ticket and project status.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop knowledge of collaboration based platforms.
  • Ensure system security by implementing security measures and protocols.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for both the team and leadership and participates in vendor selection.
  • Analyze issues and present ideas effectively to top levels of the organization.
  • Manage projects by assessing risks, ensuring timely delivery, and communicating issues to leadership, while evaluating emerging unified communications technologies to inform strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Required
  • Experience in several of the following areas: Scripting, Powershell, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Certificates (PKI), Application configurations Preferred
  • 5+ of systems engineering experience in a work environment Required
  • Experience supporting a complex environment, with multiple locations and rapidly changing operational and technology changes Required
  • Experience comprehending technical manuals and instructions Required
  • Experience writing technical specifications and creating designs Required
  • Experience mentoring and training team members Required
  • Experience with Virtualization technology, Active directory and domain, database connections, terminal servers, Citrix Xen app, Xen desktop, farms, Zones, Provisioning (High Availability), IIS, Security, Certificates Group Policy, Citrix policy, Citrix workload and balancing, Networking and Xen Server Host (operations, functionality, and clustering) Required
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to provide guidance and oversight to team
  • Knowledge and experience with Citrix Cloud, Azure, PVS and MCS, Published apps, VDI (Virtual desktops)
  • Strong technical depth in Citrix virtual desktops, VMware, and Windows Operating Systems
  • Thin Client using Virtual Desktop Interface Technology
  • Detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks and heavy workloads efficiently.
