About the role
- Leading and managing members of the Level Design team to meet project objectives
- Setting clear goals and performance expectations
- Collaborating with design leadership and artists to craft unique gameplay environments
- Designing, prototyping, implementing, and polishing in-game spaces and content
- Providing constructive feedback on others’ work
- Acting as a liaison to other departments
- Providing regular feedback, coaching, and performance management
Requirements
- Proven experience as a professional Level Designer
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules and deliver against production timelines
- Experience with technical game design (implementation in tools, game logic, visual scripting, etc.)
- Understanding and Execution of the fundamentals of Level Design in modern game engines
- Ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback
- Experience pitching level design concepts
- Bonus points for experience leading content design teams on AAA titles
- Industry recognition in your field
- Experience in adjacent fields such as content design, narrative design, environment art, programming
- Architectural experience
- Experience playing and/or crafting pen and paper, board, or trading card games
