About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage a desk and caseload of workers’ compensation claims
Investigate claims, including coverage, liability, and exposure analysis
Evaluate claim exposure and maintain accurate and timely reserves
Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel
Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions
Monitor and manage medical treatment activity and claim progression
Maintain accurate and organized claim documentation in the claims system
Ensure claim payments are processed accurately and timely
Support timely and compliant claim resolution strategies
Communicate with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients
Participate in required training and maintain knowledge of assigned state workers’ compensation statutes
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience required
Lost time workers’ compensation claims experience in Georgia required
Experience working with self-insured accounts required
Exposure to litigation management and settlement negotiations beneficial
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Professional and customer-focused approach
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new systems
High school diploma or equivalent required
Adjuster licensing beneficial or ability to obtain licensing as required
