About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a desk and caseload of workers’ compensation claims
  • Investigate claims, including coverage, liability, and exposure analysis
  • Evaluate claim exposure and maintain accurate and timely reserves
  • Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel
  • Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions
  • Monitor and manage medical treatment activity and claim progression
  • Maintain accurate and organized claim documentation in the claims system
  • Ensure claim payments are processed accurately and timely
  • Support timely and compliant claim resolution strategies
  • Communicate with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients
  • Participate in required training and maintain knowledge of assigned state workers’ compensation statutes
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience required
  • Lost time workers’ compensation claims experience in Georgia required
  • Experience working with self-insured accounts required
  • Exposure to litigation management and settlement negotiations beneficial
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Professional and customer-focused approach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Adjuster licensing beneficial or ability to obtain licensing as required
