About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Retain and expand client relationships
  • Improve the client experience as a professional insurance advisor
  • Facilitate the sales cycle for identified opportunities
  • Serve as senior-level contact for clients’ employee benefits experience
  • Develop and execute benefit strategies and ensure service standards are met
  • Direct, mentor, and coach Account Managers and junior support staff
  • Promote positive working relationships with vendors and carriers
  • Create client renewal strategies and ensure successful execution
  • Direct client benefit communications, including wellness programs and benefit enrollment
  • Monitor industry trends and client compliance deliverables
  • Lead self-funding marketing with the data analytics team
  • Coordinate and present renewal details and drive cost-containment strategies
  • Manage and oversee the Open Enrollment timeline
  • Expand existing client accounts during pre-renewal
  • Partner with Account Managers as the primary client contact for financial matters such as carrier fees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active Life and Health License required
  • Industry professional designation is a plus
  • Self-funded benefits experience required
  • Proven history of successfully managing client relationships
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits laws, regulations, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to perform customized financial analyses and interpret and present findings
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all organizational levels
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • 4+ years of account management experience supporting large, complex Employee Benefits clients with 100+ employees
  • Experience with Epic, Employee Navigator, and/or other agency management systems preferred
  • Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership
  • Final candidates must complete post-offer verification processes related to the role
