About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Service assigned employee benefits accounts, including quoting and issuing policies, ID cards, proposal endorsements, certificates, claims, renewals, follow-up, and correspondence
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company requests
- Develop coverage strategies and plans as necessary
- Perform insurance marketing and sales
- Collect renewal data on assigned accounts
- Provide claims support
- Review new and renewal policies and endorsements to ensure ordered items were received
- Maintain accurate client data in Applied Systems / EPIC
- Document all activities in Applied Systems / EPIC
- Use upload, download, and interface technology
- Assist other departments with information needed to issue appropriate policies for mutual clients
- Keep Producers informed of important account activities and potential problems
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, underwriting requirements, and policy provisions
- Complete other assigned functions, including backup duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Health & Life License required
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to discern priorities and take initiative
- Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to calculate discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions, and percentages
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions
- Knowledge and application of insurance principles
- High School diploma required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee benefits
- Applied Systems / EPIC experience is a plus
- Employee Navigator experience is a plus
- CPCU or special training course completion is a plus
- Must participate in educational seminars and classes for insurance/sales skills and license compliance
